There were some big scores and big sticks this weekend in the NCGA, and it was the first weekend that every WIAC school scored a team score in the 180s. Shortened season or not these teams are showing that nothing will rattle them.

Shadae Boone scored a personal best 9.800 this weekend for her floor routine that featured a massive double pike, stuck front lay + front full and floaty back 1.5 + front layout.

Stick of the Week

Trinity Sawyer, Vault, 9.775

Trinity Sawyer’s big Yurchenko layout half is always a highlight of the Titan vault rotation, but this week she stuck it cold for a personal best score of 9.775.

The Big Storyline: Both teams really struggled to put together bar routines, which kept the overall team scores a bit lower than what we would expect from the Blue Devils and Pipers at this point in the season. However, the other three events were great for both teams with the Blue Devils breaking 47.000 on vault and floor, while the Pipers broke 47.000 on beam. Overall, Hamline was able to keep this meet closer than many would have thought by producing season bests on three events.

The Big Storyline: Whitewater started this season with the lowest score in the WIAC, and this week it scored the highest. This meet was back and forth between the Warhawks and the Eagles, but ultimately floor is what gave Whitewater the edge. One and a half tenths was the difference between the two teams on vault, and bars only had a half-tenth difference. Blaise Wilson was a huge contributor for Whitewater in the win after sharing the beam title with Lauren Goble and finishing second in the all around.
