Selena Harris Commits to UCLA for 2023 Season

After months of anticipation, Selena Harris, the College Gym News No. 1-rated recruit from the class of 2022, has verbally committed to UCLA for the 2023 gymnastics season. She received a five star rating and out-ranked numerous international elites with her high level of difficulty, incredible technique and unparalleled NCAA readiness across four events.

The Nevada native trains at GymCats, the same club that produced two-time NCAA all around champion Tasha Schwikert. She qualified junior elite in 2017 and competed at the U.S. Classic and the U.S. national championships in both 2017 and 2018 before returning to level 10. She is a level 10 national champion on vault, a Nastia Liukin Cup qualifier and a regular appearance among lists of the country’s highest level 10 scores. She has exceeded 39.000 in the all around three times as a level 10 gymnast and peaked at 9.975 on vault.

At UCLA, she will join a freshman class that currently includes fellow former elites Zoe Gravier and Ariel Posen. Even following the 2022 freshmen, one of the most decorated recruiting classes in NCAA history, she has a very real chance to become an all around contributor.

Stay tuned for a more in-depth look at where UCLA will contribute in her Recruit File, coming next week. Plus, to see a full view of UCLA’s future classes, visit our Rosters & Commits Spreadsheet.

  1. UCLA and Cal are going to be STACKED in the coming years. Looking forward to seeing them via for the National title. Florida and Utah will also be with amazing former elite US Team members. Oklahoma is always good with turning out level 10 athletes into superstars.
