Having ranked our top 10 leos for all the big four conference teams, as well as some other popular schools (let us know if we haven’t ranked a team you want to see!), it’s time to look at each individual editor’s top 15 leotards of all time—limited to one leo per school. Next up is our Big 12 and MRGC editor Tara! Have opinions about your favorite leotards of all time? We want to see your top 15! Submit your rankings to us via email at [email protected] and include your name, ranking, links to images and a description for each. Your list just might be featured on the site! Remember, limit one leo per team.
No. 3: Michigan State: You are going to notice an ombre theme on this list, including this beautiful green one. I’ve loved this leo ever since I saw it in person at Big Tens last year.
No. 2: Utah: You’ll notice a theme on this list: ombre. The red to black is beautiful here. and I love the accent lines on the shoulders.
No. 3: Arkansas: I’ve always loved this leo. Between the geometric sparkles on the front, the belt and the ombre sleeves, I just love it.
No. 4: Oklahoma: This is the perfect balance of elegance and simplicity. Plus, the strappy back is to-die-for.
No. 5: Southern Connecticut: If the ombre and cascading sparkles on the front of this weren’t enough, the criss cross back certainly is. A+, SCSU.
No. 11: Arizona State: My favorite part of this leo is the colors used on the sleeves. It makes me think of a sunset.
No. 7: BYU: The front of this is pretty, but the faux-cross back seals the deal for me.
No. 14: UW-La Crosse: Division III teams have really been stepping up the leo game lately, which I love to see. This leo from La Crosse is absolutely beautiful.
No. 9: Florida: This is the perfect balance of school spirit without going overboard. The ombre sleeves are nice, and I love the subtle incorporation of orange.
No. 10: San Jose State: I enjoy the incorporation of yellow into the ombre on the sleeves.
No. 11: Illinois: This is just so elegant. Without the “prom dress” type fabric that forms the belt, this is great, and that belt that goes around to the back to make it crossy and open makes the leo even better.
No. 12: Pittsburgh: Blue and yellow can be hard to work it, but Pitt has nailed it lately. I like using the blue as a bodice while using the sparkles to form the school name. White to yellow ombre sleeves give it that yellow touch without being too overwhelming.
No. 9: UCLA: I love this modern take on a classic throwback design.
No. 14: New Hampshire: The sleeves and back are my favorite part of this. The bodice balances the rest of the design nicely. It’s simple but elegant.
No. 15: Minnesota: I love the front of this, and the open back is the cherry on top. This isn’t the most elaborate design, but it’s very pretty.
