2019 Regionals Draw, Individual Qualifiers Announced

The NCAA held its annual regionals selection show Monday afternoon, announcing the team draw and individual qualifiers for the 2019 NCAA Regional Gymnastics Championships. This year brings on a new championship format for college gymnastics, with four regional sites and three days of competition. Sixteen seeded teams are spread over the four sites based on ranking while the remaining 16 teams are placed geographically. Finally, the top 16 individuals in the all around and across the four events, not on a qualifying team, are spread out over the regions as well.

Regionals will be held from Thursday, April 4 to Saturday, April 6 with a “play-in” between two teams Thursday afternoon with the top advancing. Friday features regional competition with two sessions of four teams. The top two from each session advance to super regionals with the top two from that Saturday competition qualifying to nationals.

  1. Is there any TV coverage for regionals, or is it streaming only? And if so, is NCAA providing streams, or is it Flo or some other outlet? Thanks to anyone in the know!
