The Hawkeyes held their annual black and gold intrasquad Saturday with about eight total gymnasts competing on each event. On vault, in order of performance, junior Nikki Youd, sophomore Rose Piorkowski, senior Mollie Drenth and freshman Charlotte Sullivan competed for the black team while freshman Annie Kustoff, senior Angel Metcalf, junior Lanie Snyder and junior Melissa Zurawski went for the gold team. At the end of the rotation, the gold team led the black team 3-1. |

On bars for the black team, freshman Gina Leal, Youd, Sullivan, senior Lexi Mura and Drenth competed while Kustoff, Snyder, Metcalf, Zurawski and freshman Clair Kaji were in the lineup for the gold team. After the second rotation, the gold led the black 4-3.

The Hawkeyes moved to beam next, with junior Jori Robertson, Piorkowski, sophomore Sydney Hogan, Youd, Mura, Sullivan and Drenth up for black and sophomore Nicole Chow, sophomore Tessa Walsh, freshman Breanna Fitzke, Kustoff, Zurawski, Snyder and Metcalf competing for gold. After the rotation, both teams were tied at 7 points apiece.

Finally, on floor, Hogan, Youd, Sullivan and Drenth tried to wrap it up for black while Fitzke, Metcalf, Snyder and Zurawski went for the win for the gold team. Piorkowski also performed a routine in exhibition. In the end, the black team was victorious, winning by a score of 9-8 over the gold team.
