The Big Storyline: The Purple Knights’ limited roster found itself back on track after a rough start in February due to injury. Bridgeport claimed all four events, nearly matching its season high on vault and bars. Beam continued to have a few shadows lurking as did floor but all things considered, Bridgeport has done a 180 since mid-season. It was an off meet for Rhode Island. Although its consistency on vault and bars carried it through, it was an unusually low floor rotation for a typically dynamic and high scoring team, and the Anchorwomen were forced to count several scores below a 9.050.
Implications: After this meet, Bridgeport should find itself with an NQS score, although will most likely remain hovering below William & Mary, staying in eighth place in the GEC and eleventh in the USAG. While Bridgeport may not have the standing it wants, it continues to fight hard week after week. Rhode Island’s mishap won’t throw things off much, and it’ll stay right in the middle in both NCGA-East and NCGA as a whole. Things could be shuffled after Ursinus has an SAS score to account for, however.
