The Big Storyline: Minnesota came ready to play and actually lead after the first two rotations, but Michigan ultimately came out on top after a program record beam rotation. The Gophers opened the door for Michigan during their shaky floor rotation, but they still managed to score a 197.075. Michigan scored a 197.975, which included a 10 on beam from Natalie Wojcik.

Implications: Minnesota’s 197.075 on the road will really help its NQS. Michigan falling just short of a 198 likely won’t have much effect on its NQS, but the Wolverines will likely be hoping to get back into the 198 range next week.

Current Rankings: No. 19 Minnesota at No. 2 Michigan

Why You Should Cancel Plans for It: While these teams may not be as evenly matched as they have been in recent years, this meet is still one to watch. Both the Gophers and the Wolverines are coming off a great meet. Michigan just scored its season high with a 198.300, and Minnesota scored its second-highest score of the year with a 196.675.

What We’re Watching: We’ll be on 10 watch during this meet! Michigan’s Sierra Brooks and Abby Heiskell got 10s last week on vault at Rutgers, and Minnesota’s Mya Hooten got a 10 on floor. Keep an eye out for more potentially perfect routines.

What Else to Know Before Tuning in: We may also be looking at an all-around battle in Ann Arbor. Abby Heiskell is coming off a 39.800 all-around score and Mya Hooten is coming off a 39.675. If each all-arounder hits to their full potential, it may be a tight competition.

The event is finished.
