Penn

Penn has been steadily growing for the past couple of seasons, and the momentum doesnโ€™t look to be slowing down anytime soon. With a strong group of returning seniors led by all-arounders, Skyelar Kerico and Marissa Lassiter, and a great group of incoming freshmen, 2026 is looking to be another great season for the Quakers.

2025 Rewind

No. 45 overall | No. 1 at GEC | No. 45 in regular season

Penn has won the GEC conference championship title for the past four seasons and has been climbing in the rankings since 2023. The Quakers started strong from the first meet last season, breaking a 194 in their first competition out. While the team hovered around this mark for a couple of weeks, it picked up momentum, breaking a 195 and eventually a 196 in the second half of the season, ending on a high note, sending two individual qualifiers to NCAA regionals.

Team: 196.950 | AA: 39.450 (Skyelar Kerico) | VT: 49.175/9.925 (Skyelar Kerico) | UB: 49.325/9.975 (Anna Wilson) | BB: 49.475/9.950 (Campbell Marr) | FX: 49.475/9.975 (Sara Kenefick)

Several of Pennโ€™s records were either tied or broken just last season, and there could be another repeat of that this season. Kerico broke the all-around record last season with a huge 39.450 at regionals, and it isnโ€™t unlikely she could beat her own record in her senior year. Each record is just within reach, and with the ones who came closest to breaking them last season returning as veterans, Penn could have an entirely new record book come April.

The Big Picture

Since the 2021 season, Penn has continued to build and grow into a team capable of competing with anyone. After adding another GEC championship title as well as the coveted Ivy Classic title to its list of accolades in 2025, Penn is looking strong once again this season.

Likely 2026 finish: Nationally in the 40s, first in the GEC

Yale

Yale is entering the 2026 season in a great spot with the majority of its lineups returning and welcoming four new freshmen to the team. With the experience of athletes now having another year of competition, this should be a great season for the Bulldogs.

2025 Rewind

No. 55 overall | No. 2 at GEC | No. 55 in regular season

Coming in second behind Penn at the GEC Conference Championship last season is something the Bulldogs can absolutely be proud of, but also build on heading into this season. If Yale wants to get into that top spot this year, the main fixes are going to have to be finding consistency in its bar and beam lineups early on and having depth the team can count on in these big pressure situations when the time comes.

No records were tied or broken as of 2025, but several came close. Yale has all-arounder Sabatini, who is entering her senior season and who has the potential to break that individual record, coming up just short of the record in March with her season-high score of 38.950. Every event total, both from an individual as well a team standpoint, has the potential to be rewritten this season. Whether it be Luu, who came in a quarter of a tenth off the record last year, breaking the record on bars, or newcomer Hargreaves, who has scored big on vault in clu,b coming in and breaking that record, it can definitely be done this season.

The Big Picture

With all of its lineup spots returning, Yale could either have a season pretty identical to that of 2025 or it could have a huge year. With a whole year of competition, these returning veterans are in a great position to pick up right where they left off and build on the momentum they started last season. With the addition of four newcomers, Yale is looking to be strong in 2026, but it is going to be necessary for its success later on in the season to have athletes in those six through eight spots to turn to when it counts, in addition to the five strong athletes whose scores are relied on.

Likely 2026 finish: Nationally in the 50s, second in the GEC

Brown

Though Brown is returning the majority of its lineups for the 2026 season, there are a few holes it will be looking to fill following the graduations of Julia Bedell and Maya Davis. Losing four athletes, Brown will have to build on its depth from last season and look to its four newcomers to put up big scores from the start.

2025 Rewind

No. 56 overall | No. 6 at GEC | No. 56 in regular season

Brown did not have its best showing and ended up in fourth place in the GEC championships. There were some bright spots, though. The Bears gained momentum as the year went on, stacking several scores of 194+ in the back half of the season. Brown will need to focus on that level of consistency if it wants to climb in the rankings in 2026.

Several athletes came close to breaking program records in 2025. Davis, who shines on floor, and Ford, who excels on beam, both came within less than a tenth of writing their own names in the record books. The individual all around record is currently one of the longest-standing records.

The Big Picture

With the loss of big contributors in Bedell and Davis, the Bears have some big shoes to fill. Returning veterans like Dewar, Walters, Yang, and Ford can step into some of those vacated lineup spots. Brown will rely on them to bring their consistency and scoring potential from past seasons into 2026 and to guide new athletes through their freshmen campaigns.

Likely 2026 finish: Nationally in the 50s, fourth in the GEC

Bridgeport

After one of its best finishes in the past few years, Bridgeport is bringing back a huge group of returning veterans as well as several newcomers to make 2026 even better than the last.

2025 Rewind

No. 61 overall | No. 3 at GEC | No. 61 in regular season | WCGNIC final

Qualifying to the night session of the GEC championship, as well as WCGNIC team finalโ€”placing third at bothโ€”was a great accomplishment for the Purple Knights in 2025. With the talent Bridgeport returns and the newcomers joining the roster, reaching last yearโ€™s level is well within reach. The Purple Knights consistently scored in the mid-192 to 193 range last season, posting a season-high 194.000 in March. Bars and beam were the teamโ€™s most inconsistent events while vault and floor remained reliable strengths. If Bridgeport can tap into its depth on vault and floor and add more competitive routines on bars, matching or surpassing last yearโ€™s totals should be attainableโ€”and could help lock in a stronger postseason position earlier in the year.

Many of Bridgeportโ€™s program records date back to the early 2010s, when the Purple Knights were in the midst of a national championship streak. After several years of transition, the team appears back on track to post big scores and challenge records again this season and beyond. Senior Kenney, a consistent all-around performer, has the potential to tie or break marks on her strongest eventsโ€”beam and floor. Other standouts, including Coyle on floor and Staruk on vault, also have the difficulty and consistency to deliver record-setting routines when it counts.

The Big Picture

Bridgeport returns a large group of veterans alongside several promising newcomers who could make an immediate impact in lineups. The Purple Knights have long been known for pushing the envelope with unique skills and difficulty, and that trend should continue this season. Despite losing several key seniors and all-arounder Sepulveda to transfer, Bridgeportโ€™s experienced upperclassmen give the team solid depth across all events.

Likely 2026 finish: Nationally in the 50s, third in the GEC

Cornell

Cornell lost some key players in graduated all-arounder Beers, as well as Michelini, a staple on beam and floor. The Big Red is adding six newcomers who are all expected to contribute. They join a large group of returning veterans, making Cornell one of the teams on the rise in the GEC this season.

2025 Rewind

No. 62 overall | No. 5 at GEC | No. 62 in regular season

Cornellโ€™s fifth-place finish in the GEC put the team in the middle of the pack in this conference. Cornell had its season high score of 194.200 in February, and while it had a few scores in the 193 range, it carried some low 191s, limiting its rise. Cornell had the potential last season to be in that top four consideration, but struggled to find consistency across the board. Itโ€™ll be looking to find consistency early to best its performance last season.

The all-around record is currently held by graduated senior Beers, but Byun has the potential to tie or break this recordโ€“her best all-around showing was a couple of tenths shy of 39.275, weโ€™ll sheโ€™ll be on our watch list her final two seasons. The longest-standing record for the Big Red is currently the team bars record of 49.050, an event it struggled with in 2025. Itโ€™ll look to perform better than its 48.200 event high of last season and strive to set a new record. Bars is the event to watch; seeing Cornell improve there could be a sign of better things to come for it at the end of 2026.

The Big Picture

The loss of Beers, who was a consistent contributor across all four events, leaves a significant hole in all the Big Red lineups. Cornell will be looking for several fresh faces to round out its lineups, like junior Byun has the potential to step into the all-around and contribute strong scores. She scored a 38+ all season with an all-around high of 38.850 in her final all-around competition of the year. Golioto, Jones, and McLean could make waves in the vault and floor lineups based on their scores coming into college. It is bars and beam where the Big Red needs to build its depth and find consistency if it wants to have a higher scoring potential in 2026.

William & Mary

The Tribe is losing a big class of eight this season, and although it is gaining five newcomers, William and Mary is going to have to pull from its depth and put athletes in spots that might be new for them in order to stay competitive in the GEC this season.

2025 Rewind

No. 66 overall | No. 6 at GEC | No. 66 in regular season

Finishing first in its session and fifth overall at GECs was, not a shock, but a bit of a surprise looking at the trajectory of how the year was going for the Tribe. William and Mary took that top spot in the first session over Cornell by less than a tenth, scoring one of its highest team totals of the season. However, still showing a bit of a struggle on bars especially, an event that had been difficult for the Tribe to improve on all season, this was the end of its season, but a good ending at that.

All of the current records for this program are pretty long-standing, with the most recent set in 2020 on bars of a 9.925. With the highest score of any athlete last season being a 9.850 on bars from Caroline Blatchford, the Tribe will need to get over this threshold first to come close to setting a new record this season.

The Big Picture

Long story short, William and Mary needs to focus on its depth this season. Despite floor being the lowest-ranked event last season, this event specifically could be one that the Tribe is more confident and consistent on in 2026, returning the most number of routines on an event. However, vault was the most up and down last season with the highest event total at 48.500, but the lowest total almost a full three points lower. The Tribe had difficulty on this event, even with several 9.95 start values, but lacked the polish and actual consistency to help out its team score. Bars, which was one of its strongest events last season, could be a problem area this year, with only three returning scores on this event. Again, depth is going to be the name of the game for the Tribe this year.

Likely 2026 finish: Nationally in the 60s, sixth in the GEC

West Chester

West Chester has been in the 61-62 range in the national rankings since 2018, but this past season the Rams dropped to 70 in the national rankings due to some struggles, especially on vault and bars. With the graduation of eight seniors and a huge group of 10 incoming freshmen, there is going to be a great deal of change for the Rams this season.

2025 Rewind

No. 70 overall | No. 7 at GEC | No. 70 in regular season | WCGNIC final

Coming in ranked seventh in the GEC, West Chester had one of its best showings at the GEC championship, scoring one of its three 192+ scores of the season. Consistently doing well on both beam and floor, the Rams were able to capitalize on this throughout the year, but the struggles it had on vault, specifically with adding more difficulty to its lineups, and on bars in finding higher scoring potential, made it difficult to get into the 193+ mark in 2025.

Several of these records were most recently set just a year prior in 2024, when West Chester hosted its national championships and qualified into the night session. Several athletes got close to these marks in 2025, but with the athletes who came the closestโ€”Coleman on bars, McFarland on floor, and Casscadden, who currently holds two records for the Ramsโ€”having graduated, it’s up to new faces who may not yet have seen lineups or those who are new to the NCAA to try and get these records tied or broken this season.

The Big Picture

There is a lot of change happening for West Chester this season, and it could really go either way. On the one hand, with a huge group of graduating seniors who almost all had contributing scores in the lineups last season, it will be hard for the Rams to replace both scores and leadership and experience. On the other hand, this could be a new chapter with a young team building on the foundation the previous teams have built over the past few seasons. However, in order to make this change a positive one, West Chester needs to address its weaker events from last season and look to new athletes to fill those spots and step into new positions. Looking to the new freshmen who could contribute across the board is going to be crucial for the success of this season, as well as for setting the Rams up for years to come.

Likely 2026 finish: Nationally in the 70s, seventh in the GEC

Southern Connecticut

Southern Connecticut enters a rebuilding year with an entirely new coaching staff and several athletes set to make their collegiate debuts. If the Owls can establish confidence in their lineups early, this season could lay a strong foundation for the programโ€™s future success.

2025 Rewind

No. 73 overall | No. 8 at GEC | No. 73 in regular season | WCGNIC semifinals

With only a few scores over 191 last season, the Owls struggled to find high totals, especially on bars and beam, making it difficult to reach that threshold. Southern has been strong on the power events in recent years, but bars and beam have been its Achillesโ€™ heel. Finding athletes who can provide consistent routinesโ€”even if the scores arenโ€™t sky-highโ€”will be key to getting the Owls back on track and into the 192-193 range this season.

Several returning athletes could tie or break these records, but Southern really needs a strong all-arounder not only to chase records but also to strengthen the lineups overall. The addition of Sepulveda, a transfer from Bridgeport, could provide that boost, particularly in the all-around, if she consistently adds bars and beam back into her repertoire.

The Big Picture

This is one of the Owlsโ€™ smallest teams in years, but that doesnโ€™t have to be a disadvantage. A smaller roster creates opportunities for athletes who might not have competed previously to earn lineup spots. Southern is essentially starting from scratch, with few returning scores on each event and limited depth. The team will need to rely on both newcomers making their college debuts and the few returning athletes to provide consistency across the lineups.
