There’s a lot that happens on the gymternet each week. So much so that it can be hard to keep track of it all. From training updates and COVID-year announcements to recruiting rumors and coaching news, we don’t blame you for missing some important points here and there.

That’s where we come in. Last Week in College Gym is your one-stop shop for all the important headlines from the previous week in college gymnastics. No matter if you’re taking a social media break, went on vacation, or just don’t have the capacity to follow every single gymnast, team, and fan, we have you covered.

Top Storylines

UCLA, Utah Conduct Intrasquads

In advance of their Red Rocks Preview and Meet the Bruins events, former Pac-12 rivals Utah and UCLA held intrasquads in their practice gyms this week. At Utah’s intrasquad, freshmen Avery Neff and Clara Raposo showed all four events while classmate Poppy-Grace Stickler showed bars, beam, and floor. Zoe Johnson did not show any events. At UCLA’s intrasquad, freshman Mika Webster-Longin did the all-around, classmate Macy McGowan showed vault, bars, and floor, and Sasha Fujisaka showed bars. Kentucky graduate transfer Carissa Clay showed beam.

  • Former Central Michigan gymnast and current Canadian elite Denelle Pedrick was profiled by International Gymnast as she returns from a complex leg injury.

  • Denver fifth year Bella Mabanta is training a Rudi to split jump combination pass on floor.
  • Temple senior Hannah Stallings is training a Gienger release on bars.
  • BYU fifth year Anna Bramblett-Wilde is training a tucked Yurchenko one and a half vault.
  • Florida sophomore Gabby Disidore is training a double front to stag jump on floor.
