That’s where we come in. Last Week in College Gym is your one-stop shop for all the important headlines from the previous week in college gymnastics. Top Storylines

Oregon State to Become Big 12 Affiliate Member in 2026

Big 12 presidents have approved Oregon State to join the Big 12 as an affiliate member starting in the 2026 season. The athletic directors of the universities will now vote on the move. Oregon State would remain independent for the 2025 season.

Utah State to Join Pac-12 for 2027 Season

Utah State will join the Pac-12 conference, following fellow former MRGC program Boise State, who did so last week. The universities will join in July of 2026, making 2027 their first season of conference competition.

  • Northern Illinois head coach Sam Morreale retired after 22 years on the coaching staff, 13 of which were as head coach. Associate head coach Dawnita Teague will serve as interim head coach.
  • Former Iowa gymnast Johanny Sotillo-Alston is joining Air Force’s coaching staff as an assistant. 
  • After one season as assistant coach at Arizona State, former Florida gymnast Jazmyn Foberg joined LIU’s staff as an assistant.
  • Temple sophomore Kyrstin Johnson received her USAG national championship ring after winning the vault title with Talladega last season.

  • Kent State junior Nastia Rudnitskaya is training a Yurchenko one and a half vault.
  • Florida sophomore Anya Pilgrim is training a Van Leeuwen on bars.
  • Bridgeport sophomore Nova Staruk is training a Tsuk layout full on vault, while sixth year teammate Hannah Barry is training a Gainer front full dismount off the side on beam. Freshman Nicole Pujals is training a Ray release on bars.
  • Maryland senior Hailey Merchant is training a full-twisting double layout dismount on bars.
  • Oklahoma freshman Lily Pederson is training a side aerial to layout step out combination on beam.
  • Ohio State junior Mallory Gregory is training a front tuck through to two-and-a-half twist combination pass on floor.
  • Temple freshman Nazstazia-Simone Henry Jubitana is training a Pak salto on bars.
  • Pennsylvania senior Olivia VanHorn is training a front handspring front pike vault.
  • Arizona sophomore Abigayle Martin is training a Ray on bars.
  • Oregon State sophomore Sophia Esposito is training a Yurchenko double full vault.
