No matter if you’re taking a social media break, went on vacation, or just don’t have the capacity to follow every single gymnast, team, and fan, we have you covered.
Top Storylines
Csenge Bácskay Wins Silver on Vault at World Challenge Cup
Nebraska sophomore Bácskay took second on vault at the World Challenge Cup in Osijek, Croatia. The Hungarian elite has a number of international vault medals, including several golds. She was fifth at the 2021 World Championships.
Utes Add Temple Transfer Ashley Glynn
Utah added a powerful and stickable Yurchenko one and a half to the roster with the addition of Glynn. The sophomore competes an excellent vault that should immediately factor into the lineup on the event that held the Utes back in the championship final this past season.
Temple Promotes Hilary Steele to Head Coach
In additional Temple news, Steele was named head coach after stepping in as interim head coach after the departure of Josh Nilson to Illinois. Steele has been on the Temple staff for the last seven seasons and will be looking to bring Temple back to the top of the EAGL conference.
NCAA Athletes Compete at Asian Championships
Aleah Finnegan (LSU), Emma Malabuyo (UCLA) and Kylee Kvamme (Alabama commit) competed for the Philippines at the Asian Championships in Singapore this week. Finnegan and Kvamme have qualified to the 2023 world championships where there are possible qualification routes to the 2024 Olympic Games. Finnegan is returning home with bronze medals in both beam and vault while Malabuyo secured the silver medal on floor. Finnegan finished just outside the medals in fourth.

- Maryland’s Tahsa Brozowski won the school’s Silverstar Watch award for courage in the face of adversity. She competed successfully on bars at this year’s regionals shortly after her father died.
- Emily McClung announced her transfer from Greenville to Centenary. She primarily competed floor last season for the Panthers.
Training Updates
- Rising LIU junior Karsyn Foster posted a video of a Podkopayeva into the pit to her Instagram story.
- Incoming Clemson freshman Grace LaCrosse is training a side aerial to switch leap combination on beam.
- Incoming Temple freshman Maya Keller is training a half on tuck off vault into the pit.
- Incoming Ursinus freshman Lucy Warburton (whose gym in Singapore hosted Oksana Chusovitina this week) is working a front through to double pike while Erin Roe is drilling Yurchenko one and a half onto mats in the pit.
- Incoming Cornell freshman Macy Armstrong is working on her Geinger.
- Brockport’s incoming freshman Maddie Mattis is working on floor upgrades with a front full to rudi. On beam she’s training a gainer front one and a half dismount and a flutter to gainer front full connection, as well as a jaeger to bail connection on bars.
