The East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) announced the results of its 2025 preseason poll Monday, with reigning champion Towson topping the list with two first-place votes and 21 total points. George Washington narrowly missed the top spot by just one point, earning one first-place vote, too. New Hampshire rounds out the top three, also receiving one first-place vote.
The EAGL preseason poll results are gathered from the five head coaches that make up the conference. The teams are ranked based on the coaches’ placement of each team and their total awarded points.
The 2025 preseason rankings are as follows:
- Towson (21 points, two first-place votes)
- George Washington (20 points, one first-place vote)
- New Hampshire (15 points, one first-place vote)
- Temple (12 points, one first-place vote)
- LIU (7 points)
Two-time defending EAGL champion Towson ranks No. 34 in the national preseason rankings. The Tigers look to continue their historic run with another win in 2025. Although Towson lost nine routines from 2024, it’s gaining seven exciting freshmen, including Ava Harper and Piper Slocum, as well as seasoned transfers Ana Kenefick (Penn) and Isabella DeCroo (Illinois State).
Preseason poll runner-up George Washington looks to have an equally exciting season, as the Revolutionaries enter their first season with Stephanie Stoicovy Worrell as head coach. With all-arounder Kendall Whitman returning for a fifth year and only losing four routines, George Washington could give Towson a good fight for the EAGL title.
After facing some controversies and adversity this past season, LIU is looking to rebound in 2025. The Sharks have a fresh coaching staff and a large freshman class to supplement the small but hopeful squad. With lineup mainstays Brisa Carraro, Ella Barrington, and Alina Danilchenko, as well as transfers Renee Figueroa (Rutgers) and Angelina Hogan (Temple), the future for LIU looks bright.
