Alabama, Michigan Among Schools to Open December’s Preview Meet Slate
With less than one month until the gymnastics season begins, teams across the country began holding in-arena preview meets this past weekend. At Alabama’s Crimson and White preview meet on Friday night, freshman Paityn Walker competed in the all-around, while classmate Ryan Fuller turned heads with a 9.95 on bars. The team also showcased eight 10.0 start value vaults.
At Michigan’s exhibition meet, five of the seven freshmen competed, with Peyton Davis and Jahzara Ranger showing three events each. Sophomore Kayli Boozer competed on beam and floor, having not cracked either lineup beyond exhibition spots last season. Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan also competed at the meet; of note, Western Michigan freshman Reilan Garvey earned a solid 38.700 all-around score.
