Brockport
Longtime head coach John Feeney retired in 2021, and Renee Lyst’s vision for Brockport is starting to take shape as recruits fill out the lineups. This could be a rebuilding year, with a number of key contributors graduating, but Brockport continues to be a floor powerhouse while looking to improve on bars.

For several seasons now, Brockport has repeatedly looked poised to win the national title, but it hasn’t put all the pieces together on the day it counts most. 2024 was no exception.

The Golden Eagles rewrote the record books in 2024. Junior Lienna Kay could match or top her 9.900 on beam, and Laken Sooy and Kiara Hockman are right behind her. Sooy also came with a quarter-tenth of the floor record last year.
The Big Picture
Brockport has a lot of strong returning gymnasts but is also losing a high number of routines, some of which were key pieces of the 2024 campaign. 2025 could look a bit like a step toward rebuilding but with strong leadership intact.
Cortland
All of Corltand’s biggest stars are back for 2024, but the Red Dragons will need to absorb losing their top floor scorer in Delaney Brown, who also computed vault and beam. Sophomore Taylor Goldstein is back from her wildly successful freshman season and headlines the large and talented sophomore class.

Corltand surged into the 190s at the end of 2024 on the heels of great growth on bars, swinging into the NCGA team final. Sulekha Modi Zaug took NCGA National Coach of the Year honors, and Goldstein and Kathryn McSweeney earned All-American nods. Goldstein tied for second on beam at NCGA nationals with a program record-tying number and secured NCGA Rookie of the Year. It was a very successful season.

There is no reason the 2025 Red Dragon’s can’t top the overall program record, set in 2015 and tied last year. The bars record is also within reach for McSweeney, who came within three-quarters of a tenth in 2024. Goldstein tied 2001’s beam record and could outdo herself in 2025.
The Big Picture
Corltand is on track for another big year, especially with increased experience and confidence for Goldstein and McSweeney. The team will feel Brown’s loss on floor, but the returners should be up to the task of filling that hole.
Rhode Island College
One of the top gymnasts in Division III, Olivia Keyes, is back for a fifth year for the Anchorwomen, as is classmate Jolie Carpino. With a wealth of returning routines and a big incoming class, the squad should be able to absorb the losses of Kelsey Gates and Emma Tucker, though their absences will be especially felt on floor.
2024 Rewind
No. 76 overall | No. 76 in regular season
The Anchorwomen capped a record-setting year with a third-place finish at the NCGA-East regional, coming just shy of qualifying with an at-large nationals bid. The dynamic trio of Keyes, Gates, and Tucker were standout contributors and led the team throughout 2024. As a whole, the team was largely consistent across all four events and tied its highest finish (as far back as we have records) from 2022 at No. 76.

The Anchorwomen rewrote the RIC record books in 2024, toppling the overall team record, as well as the top marks on vault, bars, and floor. Realistically, with a strong class graduating, 2025 might not be quite as monumental a year, but Keyes has the potential to break her own individual records in the all-around and on floor.
The Big Picture
The Anchorwomen are graduating half of one of their strongest classes ever, but getting Keyes back for one more season is a bright spot. She could absolutely challenge for the NCGA all-around title and lead Rhode Island College to the biggest stage. The returning team will have to do some work to fill holes, especially on floor, but it is a very capable group.
Ithaca
The Bombers come into 2025 after narrowly missing the NCGA championships. Nicole Lonski is back healthy and training, and exciting freshman Camryn Flaherty should impact vault and bars immediately. Between Greenville transfer Sienna Blake and Flaherty, Ithaca should easily cover losing bar worker Coral Cotteleer to retirement. All signs point to a strong season ahead.
2024 Rewind
No. 77 overall | No. 77 in regular season
Ithaca closed out a steady season with a fourth-place finish at the NCGA-East regional, just missing an at-large bid to the big dance. Still, seven Bombers represented the team there, with returners Emily Kobusky and Grace Murray nabbing All-America honors. Bars was overall inconsistent, though, holding the team back from truly big numbers.

Junior Murray came within a toe-point of the vault record for her tucked Tsuk half, missing the 9.800 mark by just a quarter-tenth; that could fall in 2025. Kobusky owns the beam record and could match or better her 9.875. The team totals on beam and floor are also within reach; the beam number was set in 2023, and last year’s squad only missed it by one tenth. With that whole lineup returning, it could certainly fall.
The Big Picture
With only two routines leaving and solid gymnastics coming in, the Bombers have a chance to shore up some consistency on bars and put pressure on the top-tier teams in the conference and division.
Ursinus
Ursinus has looked incredibly consistent over the past five years, and 2025 is shaping up to be similar. With only a few routines leaving and a very large and strong senior class, the Bears have a chance to topple some team records and challenge for an NCGA nationals berth.
2024 Rewind

An off day on beam at the NCGA-East regional is all that held the Bears out of nationals. It was a strong season overall, and Ursinus will look to build on 2024’s foundation in the new year.

Ursinus came within one tenth of rewriting the record books on beam and floor, and was just a hair further away on vault. Erin Roe and Kylie Ruggiero set new school bests on vault and bars while Megan Matteucci was just a half-tenth from doing so on floor. All three are back in 2025. This roster is loaded with potential and is within striking distance of having a historic, breakthrough season.
The Big Picture
Ursinus won’t really feel the departing members of the team because the rising senior class is very strong. With minimal gaps to fill, this season could be particularly successful for the Bears.
Springfield
The Pride will be looking to bounce back in 2025, as second-year head coach Diana Gallagher finds her footing. However, it will be a tall task without Sophia LeBlanc, who led the way on bars, beam, and floor. Beam especially will have many holes to fill.
2024 Rewind
No. 79 overall | No. 79 in regular season
Springfield missed out on qualifying to NCGA nationals and thus took a step back in the DIII rankings after a steady decade-plus as a contender. Still, LeBlanc and Annie Kiley ended the year as All-Americans, in the all-around and on vault, respectively. The floor squad was also a standout.

Senior Ayako Maeda improved greatly on bars last year, nabbing as high as a 9.700. The 9.800 individual record is within reach. Sophomore Emma Skowronek inched near the 9.875 beam record, missing by just over a tenth during her freshman campaign.
The Big Picture
Springfield enters 2025 with a second-year head coach, newly renovated practice facility, and a return to the NCGA national stage on its mind. With the exits of LeBlanc and Kiley, improving on last year’s result will require work from the returning roster and freshmen, but the Pride should take strides in the NCGA-East nevertheless.
Utica
Utica is losing one of its stars in Alexis Castellaneta, but transfers Jenna DiPalo and Kaitlyn Vaz, as well as a large incoming class, give the Pioneers a lot of potential in their second-ever season. This very young squad will be headlined again by Grace Marra, who will look to pick up right where she left off in 2024.
2024 Rewind
No. 85 overall | No. 85 in regular season
In just its first year as a program, and with a roster made up almost entirely of freshmen, Utica sent two gymnasts to NCGA nationals in Castellaneta and Marra, the latter of whom became an All-American in the all-around after a strong showing. All in all, the Pioneers had a successful first year as a program.

Utica is just getting rolling, and with more experience going into year two, we should see the Pioneers break many of its records from its inaugural season. Look for Marra to topple her own bars record. Each other event best was set by Castellaneta, so this roster has something to chase.
The Big Picture
Utica set high standards for itself in its first season, consistently improving on team scores throughout the year and ending 2024 on a high. Castellaneta leaves big grips to fill, but with more experience across the board and many fresh faces, the Pioneers should be up to the task. The NCGA-East is very competitive, so climbing the conference standings will be a tall task, though. Still, continuing to progress in the DIII rankings overall should be a goal for this squad.

For Rhode Island, Emma Tucker is back for a fifth-year and will be competing vault, beam, and floor.
