There’s a lot that happens on the gymternet each week. So much so that it can be hard to keep track of it all. From training updates and COVID-year announcements to recruiting rumors and coaching news, we don’t blame you for missing some important points here and there.

That’s where we come in. Last Week in College Gym is your one-stop shop for all the important headlines from the previous week in college gymnastics. No matter if you’re taking a social media break, went on vacation, or just don’t have the capacity to follow every single gymnast, team, and fan, we have you covered.

Newsworthy Items

  • Oregon State senior Lauren Letzsch was profiled by the Portland Tribune in a piece discussing her struggles with POTS and its impact on her gymnastics career.
  • Former UCLA assistant coach Autumn Grable is in need of a liver transplant due to an autoimmune condition.
  • Clemson sophomore Sierra Church was awarded a scholarship.
  • UCLA junior Jordan Chiles was part of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. She was also awarded the 2024 Jack Kelly Fair Play Award by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee for her and Simone Biles’ recognition of Rebeca Andrade following the floor final at the Olympics this past summer.
  • Whitewater junior Danielle Dudziak received the Lawrence “Red” and Carol Entress Family Scholarship for outstanding education majors at the school.
  • Former Auburn gymnast Cassie (Stevens) Pruitt and former Texas Woman’s gymnast Daisy Woodring were both named 2025 NCAA Today’s Top 10 award recipients.
  • Arkansas head coach Jordyn Wieber will appear on the FOX reality competition series Special Forces.

  • George Washington freshman Zoe Safran is training a clear hip to double layout dismount on bars. 
  • Denver fifth-year Abbie Thompson is training a switch leap to side somersault on beam.
  • LIU junior Angelina Hogan is training a double pike on floor.
  • Michigan sophomore Kayli Boozer is training a Yurchenko full on vault, per the All Things Gymnastics Podcast. Classmate Ava Jordan and freshman teammate Peyton Davis are both training Yurchenko one and a half vaults. 
  • Bridgeport sophomore Olivia Walker is training a Yurchenko full on vault.
  • Temple sophomore Amelia Budd is training a Yurchenko one and a half on vault.
  • Alaska freshman Kacey Pratley is training an Ezhova on bars.
  • Arizona State fifth-year Sarah Clark is training a gainer layout full dismount on beam.
  • Minnesota junior Megan Steensland is training a Rudi to back layout step out pass on floor.
