Recruiting Roundup: September 27

It’s been a busy few weeks for some of the top-rated recruits in the class of 2026. The commitments are starting, and many top recuits have either announced their college intentions or are nearing their decision. One of which is 2024 Olympian Hezly Rivera, who announced she will be attending LSU over Oklahoma and Florida.

International Insight

Tabitha Kelly, a gymnast at SCEGA and recruit in the class of 2026, finished on top of the podium on all four events and captured the all-around title at the recent  Panamanian championships. She has been named to the national team for a second time.

Official Visits

  • A quad of rated class of ’26 recruits was in Baton Rouge this past weekend to see if LSU might be their future home. Five-stars Hezly Rivera and Dulcy Caylor were joined by four-stars Evey Lowe and Zoey Molomo. 
  • Paige Alexander, a four-star in the class of ’26, took an official visit at Missouri.
  • Michigan head coach Bev Plocki had a busy weekend when class of ’26 recruits Kieryn Finnell (five-star), Madray Johnson (five-star), Leigh Anne Elliott (four-star), Ronnie Amey (four-star), and Gabrielle Black (three-star) visited. Amey later announced her verbal commitment to the Wolverines.
  • Clemson hosted more rated recruits with five-star Simone Brown (’26) and three-stars Gabriella Pierson (’26) and Sydney Snyder (’26). They were joined by Daisy Bowles, a ‘25 recruit who is currently verbally committed to Washington but has been taking visits elsewhere this fall.
  • Four-star Raeya Linton in the class of ’26 visited Maryland.
  • Oklahoma hosted a trio of four-star recruits in the class of ’26 this past weekend when Sutton Strasser, Sofia Estrada, and Ella Fine took an official. They were joined by ’26 classmate and three-star Avery Moll.
  • Fine, a four-star in the class of 26, also had a chance to tour the National Weather Service during her official visit to Oklahoma. Fine has made her interest in meteorology well known and the Sooners have one of the best programs in the country for the subject.
  • Sophie Schriever, a four-star in the class of ‘25 visited Washington where she has a verbal commitment, but she has also visited Iowa this fall after the coaching swap between the two programs this summer.

Commitment Changes

  • Ella Roberts who was previously committed to Georgia will now continue her gymnastics career at Iowa state in the class of ’25.

Class of 2025

  • Yale added two recruits this week with Maryland’s Eva Rosenberg and Indiana’s Ella Hargreaves announcing their intentions to join the Bulldogs. Rosenberg’s strongest scoring event is vault with a best of 9.500. Hargreaves is a well-balanced competitor with her all-around high topping out at 37.350.
  • Cornell added four with Clara Jones, Ella Fox, Kristen Young, and Noelle Wojcik. Jones’ and Fox’s strongest events are vault and floor with Young being a strong competitor on beam and bars with a high of 9.800 on the latter. Wojcik is the third of four sisters to compete in NCAA gymnastics. Natalie and Nicole competed for Michigan and Lindenwood, respectively. Noelle has a vault high of 9.625 and her all-around high is 36.050.
  • Camille Derienzo, who trains at Hanover in Pennsylvania, has committed to Brockport. She has a beam high of 9.550.
  • West Virginia scored a pair of recruits this week in Callie Kauffman and Lauren Eyssen. Kauffman has an all-around high of 37.050 with Eyssen topping out at 36.625 with a high of 9.550 on vault.
  • Mali Morgan will become the second Welsh gymnast to compete in the NCAA following her commitment to Pittsburgh. She follows fellow Welsh team mate Poppy Stickler, who is a freshman at Utah. Morgan competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and is a member of the British national team. 
  • Jessica Drobick has committed to Penn. She is a three-star recruit who trains at San Mateo in California. She qualified to 2024 nationals and competes a piked Gienger on bars.

Class of 2026

  • Mylee Grant has committed to Kentucky on a full-ride. She is a 2024 nationals qualifier and boasts a high of 9.800 on bars.
  • Morgan Clements will become a Bronco with her commitment to Boise State on a full-ride. She is a three-star level 10 and 2024 nationals qualifier, as well as a New York state all-around champion.
  • Alexandria Zambrano has announced her commitment to Penn State on scholarship. She has a 9.700 vault high score and is the 2024 Region 6 champion on this event.
  • CaMarah Williams, the No. 3 recruit in her class, has committed to Georgia. She is the first recruit for Georgia in this class. Williams boasts a level 10 all-around high of 39.100, as well as a 10.0 on vault and a 9.975 on floor. She competed elite in 2024.
  • Evey Lowe becomes the fourth recruit in her class to commit to Oklahoma. She is a four-star elite who competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2024.
  • Ashtyn Conley will become a Tiger with her commitment on a full-ride to Missouri. She’s a three-star recruit with an all-around high of 38.125. Her standout events are beam and floor where she tops out at 9.650 and 9.825, respectively.
  • Hezly Rivera made her college choice. The 2024 Olympian will be headed to Baton Rouge for college.
