Transfer Portal Heats Up as Offseason Begins
The offseason has already brought us tidbits of who is looking to move on to another opportunity. So far, over 20 athletes have either announced they are in the portal or have revealed their new destination for the 2025 season. Georgia Gymnastics adds Oleksii Koltakov and Marissa King as Assistant Coaches
After replacing former Head Coach Courtney Kupets Carter with Ryan Roberts and Cecile Canqueteau-Landi, the GymDawgs rounded out their coaching staff with the two former Nebraska assistant coaches. According to Roberts, Kolkatov will work primarily with the vault and floor squads while King will choreograph beam and floor routines as well as serve as the team’s pump-up person.
Ondine Achampong Announces ACL Tear
British gymnast and incoming Cal freshman Ondine Achampong announced on Instagram that she tore her ACL landing a bars dismount at Lillshalle. The injury will likely take her out of the running to make the British Olympic team for Paris this summer and may limit her ability to contribute to Cal’s lineups next season.

- Incoming Utica freshman Emmy Graff is working a Yurchenko full onto an eight-inch mat in the pit. On bars, incoming freshman Kourtney Pierce is training a straddle Jaeger.
- Incoming Brown freshman Maeve McIlroy is working a full-in on floor.
- Katelyn Rosen, rising sophomore at UCLA, is working a triple series BHS LOSO LOSO on beam.
- N.C. State’s rising junior Kailee Adomaites is working a Ricna on bars.
- Abby Martin of Arizona is working a Ray on bars.
- San Jose State rising junior Mikaela Pitts is working a new dismount on bars: a toe-on front pike half.
- Ithaca College rising senior Caitlin Pellegrino is training a Tsuk layout full on vault. Fellow rising senior Abby Chesshire is adding a half twist on floor, changing her pass to a round-off one and a half to front full tumbling pass. Natalie Steed, a rising sophomore, is working a Yurchenko full into the pit, and rising junior Grace Murray looks to be working towards a Yurchenko half-on front off vault.
- BYU 5th-year Anna Bramblett is upgrading her bars dismount to a full-twisting double layout.
