As we draw nearer to the 2024 season, gym fans everywhere are preparing for their fantasy drafts. From freshmen to transfers and injury returners, it can be hard to keep track of all of the gems out there. We rounded up 10 picks who might be flying under the radar that you might want to add to your draft and help your team shine come January.
Farah Lipetz, Michigan
Lipez missed her freshman season with a presumed injury, but she’s healthy now and looking very ready for her Wolverine debut. Her form and presence on beam are what we’ve come to expect from Michigan beamers. She should contribute on bars as well.
Danie Ferris, Florida
Florida is awash in talented freshmen, but don’t let Ferris go unnoticed. She has been featured heavily on vault, where her easily stickable Yurchenko one and a half would do wonders for any fantasy lineup.
Alivia Ostendorf, Utah State
Ostendorf transferred to Utah State last year from Ball State and had a quietly excellent season. The three-eventer performed consistently very well on vault and floor and added beam as well. She’s exactly the kind of gymnast who fills out a fantasy lineup well and ultimately contributes important scores.
Sidney Washington, Ohio State
Another transfer, Washington left Pittsburgh to join the Buckeyes this year. Her already-excellent vault looks better than ever in training clips, and she should be a mainstay on bars and floor as well.
Delaynee Rodriguez, Kentucky
Wildcat freshman, Rodriguez could get lost in the SEC newcomer conversation, but that would be a mistake. A potential all-arounder, Rodriguez should shine especially on beam and floor. She’s a very clean vaulter as well.
Kaitlin DeGuzman, Clemson
Don’t forget about Clemson! The Tigers’ debut season should feature some strong gymnastics.
The graduate transfer from Kentucky has been heavily featured in the team’s training clips. She’s a star bars specialist.
Sara Ulias, UCLA
Ulias is returning from injury and appears to be in good form for the Bruins. Before injury she was a usual bars and floor worker; a unique event combination that could be a strategic drafting choice for your fantasy team.
Krista Zultevicz, N.C. State
Zultevicz can get lost in the Wolfpack conversation, especially in fantasy since she’s on a team with perhaps the most strategic draft pick in the entire NCAA in Chloe Negrete. She’s a great under-the-radar contributor who can be a mainstay in your floor lineup and fill out beam and vault as needed.
Jaudai Lopes, San Jose State
Lopes is an all-arounder who is incredibly consistent on vault and floor. If you’re looking for that reliable 9.850 to 9.875 number on those events, look no further than this senior.
Isabella Minervini, Towson
If bars is your fantasy bugaboo, Minervini is a must-draft. She was a breakout star in her freshman campaign on the event, scoring as high as a 9.950, and she is a strong floor worker as well.
