Previously announced to be discontinued after the 2021 season, William & Mary’s women’s gymnastics program will be reinstated, the athletics department announced today.
William & Mary’s athletics department previously announced that the program would be suspended due to COVID-related budget constraints. However, as reported by Lane Casadonte of CBS 6 Richmond, the program will be reinstated in order to balance out Title IX requirements.
The number of eliminated women’s gymnastics programs in 2020 now goes down to two, with Seattle Pacific and Alaska previously announcing that their teams will be discontinued.
