JaFree Scott, a senior elite from GAGE, announced her verbal commitment to Florida this afternoon. She was one of College Gym News’ top uncommitted gymnasts in the class of 2022, thanks to her impeccable form and high skill level.
Scott competed at the 2017 P&G Championships and 2018 US Gymnastics Championships in the junior division and was a member of the 2018 junior Pan Am title-winning team. As a level 10, she scored a perfect 10 on vault. Scott missed the entirety of the 2019 season with injury and only had one outing in 2020 before the season was cut short due to COVID. She is considered one of the best all around recruits in the 2022 class.
The commitment gives the Gators an unbelievable set of underclassmen for the 2023 season, including Morgan Hurd, Shilese Jones, Riley McCusker, Sophia Butler, Kayla DiCello and Olivia Greaves.
Stay tuned for a more in-depth look at where Scott will contribute in her Recruit File, coming next week. Plus, to see a full view of Florida’s future classes, visit our Rosters & Commits spreadsheet.
