About Addison
Lawrence is a 2018 J.O. nationals qualifier. There she tied for silver on vault (Junior C). In 2019 she had an exceptional Missouri state meet, winning gold medals in the all around and on vault, bars and beam with a silver on floor. She qualified to the Region 4 regionals where she won bronze in the all around, bars and floor (tied), and silver on vault. That year she also achieved the elite qualifying score at the KPAC Cup. In 2020 she scored career highs on vault and bars.
What She Brings to Missouri
Vault
- Skill: Yurchenko 1.5
- Results: tied second place at the 2018 J.O. nationals
- Margin of Improvement: Lawrence’s form could be slightly cleaner in the air, but she can find the landing well.
- Impact on the Team: Missouri is a team on the rise and is trying to increase its difficulty on the event. Lawrence is expected to contribute from the start.
Uneven Bars
- Skills: Maloney to Pak salto, straddle Jaeger, double front dismount
- Results: 2019 Missouri state champion
- Margin of Improvement: Lawrence performs a difficult routine. Her form could be a bit crisper, but she has plenty of time to perfect it and her collegiate set will likely be shorter.
- Impact on the Team: Lawrence will be expected to contribute to the lineup from the start. She and Helen Hu will be a dynamic duo on this apparatus.
Balance Beam
- Skills: switch leap to leap jump, BHS + LOSO, full turn with the leg held horizontal, split leap to side somi, front aerial, side aerial to BHS, double twist dismount
- Results: 2019 Missouri state champion
- Margin of Improvement: Lawrence’s scores are shaky, but when she hits, her routine is solid.
- Impact on the Team: If Lawrence can keep her nerves at bay, she could become an important contributor to the lineup.
Floor Exercise
- Skills: double pike, triple twist, 1.5 twist to front layout
- Results: tied third place at the Region 4 regionals
- Margin of Improvement: Lawrence still needs to work on her landings a bit, but her recent upgrades are impressive.
- Impact on the Team: Lawrence is set to become a solid competitor on floor too.
