LIVE BLOG: No. 10 California at No. 33 Arizona State

How high can California go? The Bears have scored above 197 two weeks in a row now and are beginning to look like a team that could qualify to nationals. They’re on such a good path: From here the plan has to be to emphasize consistency and cruise into the top eight while other teams fall. On that note, I’m wondering if we’ll see some lineup changes this week for the Bears. Rachael Mastrangelo is having a difficult time on floor, possibly with some lingering illness or injury issues, and could use a break. Freshman Maya Green has been excelling in the bars exhibition and must earn her turn in the lineup soon, but it’s hard to see who to replace.

Meanwhile, Arizona State is an inexperienced and nervy group wrangling with the graduation of a huge senior class and a restricted Cairo Leonard-Baker. Half of the Sun Devils’ routines come from a trio of freshmen competing the all around. In a few years’ time, those three will undoubtedly be ice-cold competitors after having to battle so hard this year, but it’s certainly not the most relaxing way to gain experience.

Well, we’re having a stream issue here.

I’ll be here when it resolves itself.

Bummer 🙁 See you another time!
