I’m in Morgantown for my second meet of the weekend for an exciting time with the No. 1-ranked team in the country! While Oklahoma is the heavy favorite and should come out on top barring absolute disaster, there are still some other storylines to follow.
After its meet on Friday, West Virginia is in a pretty good position as we switch over to NQS (formerly RQS) rankings, but it will still be hoping to take advantage of a dual against Oklahoma to record another big score. So far, the Mountaineers have only recorded one score above 196 and will want to repeat that to be able to count a 196 for NQS.
At West Virginia’s last home meet, Kirah Koshinski scored a near-perfect 9.975 on floor, and she got a 10 from one judge for her vault at Pitt. With Oklahoma in town, it seems like a perfect opportunity to finally get that elusive 10. Of course, it’s going to depend on how she performs and how generous the judges are, but that is the main storyline I am going to be watching.
No Maggie today. Per KJ, she’s resting in preparation for UCLA next week. Brenna Dowell in the all around again. Koshinski doing the all around for the second time this season
Rotation 1
Hornung (WVU) – y full with a small hop back. good start!
Webb (OU) – good on pak, great shaposh half, sticks double front half dismount!
Waldron (WVU) – y full with a bounce back
Marks (OU) – good shaposh to bail, sticks full in dismount!
Tun (WVU) – y full with a bounce back
Thomas (OU) – good on jaeger, almost casts over but pulls it through, stuck DLO! Nailing these dismounts!
Kaufman (WVU) – good y full, with maybe just a small adjustment
Dowell (OU) – huge ray, good on bail, sticks DLO dismount!
Koshinski (WVU) – y 1.5 with a small hop. So no 10 today.
Lehrmann (OU) – good on jaeger, perfect bail, sticks (or nearly sticks) full in dismount
Abarca (WVU) – just a y layout with a small bounce back
Draper (OU) – looks like she’s being scratched because they had 5 hits
After 1: OU 49.400, WVU 48.575
Great start for Oklahoma as usual, despite no Nichols. WVU didn’t have the best start on vault (scoring seems to be tight there) and will want to regroup for bars.
Rotation 2
Lehrmann (OU) – y 1.5 with a small step forward
Abarca (WVU) – good on bail, great gienger, and sticks dismount!
Webb (OU) – y 1.5 with a small hop forward
Combs (WVU) – good shaposh to pak, just the smallest of hops on her dismount
Degouveia (OU) – y 1.5 with a small hop
Sorry guys, I’m tired. I just wrote y full when I mean y 1.5 :/
Kaufman (WVU) – good tkatchev, great on bail, sticks DLO dismount!
Stern (OU) – y 1.5 with a hop forward
Tun (WVU) – great jeger, good on bail, step back on dismount

Marler (WVU) – good pliked jaeger, and stuck DLO dismount!
Dowell (OU) – y 1.5 with a step back
Cluchey (WVU) – Late fill in for Koshinski. catches jaeger close and has to recast and falls, gets back up and does a good pak, sticks dismount. Great fight after the fall!
After 2: OU 98.775, WVU 97.500
WVU just under a 49 on bars. Oklahoma with a good vault rotation but scoring definitely tight.
Rotation 3
Linnen (WVU) – lovely front aerial and leaps, good on front aerial BHS series, small wobble on leap but fights, sticks dismount
Draper (OU) – good on first pass, now having fun with her choreography, oob (?) on front full
Kaufman (WVU) – good on front toss, good BHS LSOS series, good on leaps and full turn, sticks gainer full dismount
LaPinta (OU) – good triple full to open, sits second pass, and good on double back to close
Hornung (WVU) – good wolf turn to start, good on front aerial to one arm BHS, solid leaps, small step on dismount
Webb (OU) – good front double full to open, second pass is great, and a great rudi to close
Koshinski (WVU) – good BHS LOSO series, wobble on leaps but covers, sticks dismount
Degouveia (OU) – good front double full to open, great front lay to front full, and a great 1.5 to front lay to close
Sell (WVU) – good acro series, wobble on front aerial but saves it, small step on dismount
Dowell (OU) – sticks Dowell! good 1.5 to front lay, and a nice front lay to front full to close. Beautiful!!
Abarca (WVU) – great acro series, good on leaps, good on side aerial, just a small hop on dismount
Trautman (OU) – nice DLO! great front lay to front full to split jump, very floaty! huge double back to close. Great routine!
After 3: OU 148.125, WVU 146.200
Scores are very tight on beam. I’m not sure what they could have been taking on some of them (maybe got them on some pauses). Some great floor routines for Oklahoma! I’ve been looking forward to seeing Brenna forever, but I Trautman was great too!
Rotation 4
Trautman (OU) – great BHS LOSO series, ver solid leaps, slight check on front toss but covers well, stuck dismount!
Linnen (WVU) – good front double full to open, beautiful rudi to LOSO, lovely routine!
Dowell (OU) – great acro series, very nice leaps, good full twisting BHS, stuck dismount!
Kaufman (WVU) – good double pike to open, slightly low on front lay but saves it, and a good double back to close
Lehrmann (OU) – great BHS LOSO series, slight check on front aerial but covers well, very nice split leaps, stuck dismount!
Fontaine (WVU) – huge double back to open, I say this every time, but this Star Wars routine is one of my favorites! low on second pass but saves it, and a good rudi to close.
Woodard (OU) – wobble on side aerial BHS series but covers, good on front toss, sticks dismount
Hornung (WVU) – great double pike to open, good on second pass, 1.5 to front tuck to close (I think that was supposed to be a layout
Schoepfer (OU) – falls on triple series, good leaps, great full turn, sticks dismount. Great recovery after the fall
Tun (WVU) – stuck full in to open, whip to double twist is great, great rudi to close
Webb (OU) – great BHS LOSO series, great front aerial, slightly crooked on dismount and has to take a large step off the mats
Koshinski (WVU) – HUGE DLO to open! 1.5 to front lay is great, just last pass to go, stuck double pike! GREAT routine! Let’s see if they give it to her… nope 9.925
Final: OU: 197.100, WVU 195.350
Shame about those last two beam routines because that was going really well. West Virginia looked a bit sluggish on a couple of its floor routines but recovered nicely with the last two.
