Our recruit ratings make it easy to discover all-arounders who will lead their teams to NCAA success in the coming years. However, event specialists play an important role on college teams too, and these gymnasts may slip under the radar while being recruited. Each year we take the time to highlight uncommitted, three-star, and/or unrated gymnasts who excel on each event, and this article focuses on beam.
Class of 2025
Alisya Dorman
Rating: NR
College: Utica
High Score: 10.000
Why She Stands Out: Perfect 10s are hard enough to come by at the collegiate level, but in level 10, they’re even rarer. To make this even more exciting, Dorman is committed to Utica, a D3 school, which is surely over the moon to welcome this state and regional champion.
Maddison Hajjar
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
College: Uncommitted
Why She Stands Out: Hajjar recently broke the 13 barrier at the elite level at Canadian nationals. Still uncommitted, she’s keeping us on our toes, but if she ends up somewhere at the last minute, watch for her triple series and gorgeous leaps on this event.
Rehna Saalinger
Rating: NR
College: Brown
High Score: 9.675
Why She Stands Out: Brown finished behind Yale and Penn this year, but Saalinger’s beam routine has the potential to be a lineup highlight for them next year. She competes with fantastic confidence and precision and has demonstrated her ability to compete under pressure by nearly matching her career high on the event at nationals.
Linda Uro
Rating: NR
College: Western Michigan
High Score: 9.700
Why She Stands Out: Uro’s routine is one that you just want to watch again and again, primarily due to her spectacular execution. A late commit to Western Michigan, look for her grace and movement quality in their beam lineup this season.
Class of 2026
Jayla Hoeck
Rating: NR
College: Uncommitted
High Score: 9.725
Why She Stands Out: Training in Florida, Hoeck is not yet committed, but competes her beam routine with fantastic confidence that will serve her well wherever she ends up. Her routine includes a sheep jump, a skill not often seen.
Neela Nicholson
Rating: NR
College: Uncommitted
High Score: 9.800
Why She Stands Out: Like Hoeck, Nicholson is another fantastic uncommitted gymnast from Florida who’s strong on beam. However, these athletes differ quite strongly in their skill selection, with Nicholson’s standout skill being a front aerial to scale.
Class of 2027
Stephie Becker
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
College: Uncommitted
High Score: 9.700
Why She Stands Out: With strong execution on difficult and unique skills such as a switch half and aerial to two feet, Becker is one to watch. Her confidence also stands out, especially for someone in a younger class.
Cailin Dewell
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
College: Uncommitted
High Score: 9.650
Why She Stands Out: The precision with which Dewell competes, from her hand positions to her toe point, is exceptional. It is not at all surprising that she won the all-star national event title.
Harper Haralson
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
College: Uncommitted
High Score: 9.725
Why She Stands Out: Junior Nastia Liukin Cup runner-up on this event, Haralson competes with a lovely rhythm and flow. Her results are consistently strong on this event, not having placed below third at a single meet since 2023.
Ashlyn Tejeda
Rating: NR
College: Uncommitted
High Score: 9.775
Why She Stands Out: Another fantastic California beamer, Tejeda’s spectacular flexibility is evident throughout her routine, especially with her ring jump. Her triple series and front aerial to scale are also fantastic.
