2023 Recruit Ratings By the Numbers

Our recruit ratings for the classes of 2024 and 2025 are finally ready to be released! While you won’t be able to dive into the full database until June 14, we wanted to build the excitement a little by sharing some fun facts behind the numbers. From how many total gymnasts received a rating this cycle to which college has the most rated recruits at this point, there are so many fun elements to this year’s group of rated gymnasts.

If you’re curious about how our rating system works—or just want a refresher—check out our frequently asked questions page for more info.

249 Total Rated Recruits

After our evaluations, 249 total recruits received a rating across both classes. That includes 13 five-stars in the class of 2025 and 20 in 2024, 31 four-stars in the class of 2025 and 61 in 2024, and 53 three-stars in the class of 2025 and 71 in 2024.

136 Gymnasts Improved

One of our favorite parts of each rating cycle is seeing how the previously rated class improves. This year we had 136 gymnasts in the class of 2024 increase their point total and 69 improve their star rating. Impressive!

Top States

It should surprise no one that Texas is the most represented state among this year’s rated recruits, with 40 total athletes across the classes of 2024 and 2025. California falls into second place with 26 gymnasts, followed by Florida with 16. Interestingly, California leads the way in the class of 2024 with 19 rated gymnasts beating out Texas’ 16, with North Carolina in third place at 10 gymnasts. Texas absolutely dominates the class of 2025 ranking by state, with 24 athletes; the next highest is Utah with nine followed by Florida with eight.

Top Clubs

Across both classes included in this year’s ratings, WOGA (Texas) came out on top, with 10 total rated gymnasts. There was a tie for second place between World Champions Centre (Texas) and Olympus (Utah), both with eight rated gymnasts. When narrowing the field down to just the class of 2024, Minnesota’s Twin City Twisters dominated with six gymnasts who received a rating, followed by Sonshine (North Carolina) with five and WOGA and San Mateo (California) tying for third with four apiece. For the class of 2025, there was a three-way tie between Olympus, WOGA, and Metroplex (Texas) with six rated gymnasts each.

Colleges With the Most Rated Recruits

The future is looking bright in Ann Arbor as Michigan tops this metric with all six of its class of 2024 commits receiving a rating this year. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and UCLA tie for second place with five each.

7 Perfect Event Totals

The way our system works, it’s incredibly hard for a recruit to receive a perfect event total, so when one does, it’s something we want to applaud. This year, five gymnasts received a perfect point total on one event—Lily Pederson (Oklahoma, 2024, bars), Haylee Hardin (Iowa State, 2024, floor), Haley Mustari (2025, bars), Madelyn Dorbin (2025, floor), and Quincy Walters (2025, floor)—while No. 1 recruit in the class of 2024 and Utah commit Avery Neff was perfect on two (vault, bars).
