Make It or Break It Down: Where Are They Now?

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been nearly a decade since the last episode of Make It or Break It blessed our TV screens. As we revisit the beloved series, we thought it would also be fun to take a peek at what the actresses behind our favorite TV gymnasts have been up to since they finished flipping for the camera.

With projects ranging from founding a non-profit to starting a production company, it’s safe to say that these four ladies are still Rocking it. (Too much? Sorry, we couldn’t resist.)

 Ayla Kell (Payson Keeler)

Ayla Kell spent three seasons on MIOBI as the hyper-focused Payson Keeler.

Since hanging up Payson’s grips, Kell has appeared in several shows and TV moviesincluding Melissa & Joey and Christmas at Rosemontand has several current acting projects in the works.

Kell is active on Instagram, sharing frequent updates on her various personal and professional projects (including lots of MIOBI love).

In addition to being a classically-trained ballerina and singer, Kell is also an avid artist and photographer who recently launched a website that offers fans “‘behind the scenes’ access into what makes [her] so fervently creative.”

Josie Loren (Kaylie Cruz)

After her stint as Kaylie Cruz, Loren joined the cast of popular crime drama The Mentalist in its final season.

Though she hasn’t acted professionally since 2015, the UCLA alumna has kept busy: She founded nonprofit organization Keep It Kind, serves as an ambassador for PADRES Contra El Cancer (a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with cancer) and graduated from Loyola Marymount University Law School in 2019.

In 2018, she married her long-time boyfriend, former Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart. In addition to Leinart’s son Cole, the couple welcomed son Cayson earlier this year.

You can follow her on both Twitter and Instagram.

Cassie Scerbo (Lauren Tanner)

Cassie Scerbo has worked steadily in the decade since MIOBI, appearing in numerous film and TV projects (most notably playing Nova in SyFy’s popular Sharknado franchise).

In addition to her busy acting career, Scerbo co-hosts the podcast Two and a Half Girls, serves as vice president of non-profit Boo2Bullying and is currently raising funds to benefit Domestic Abuse RE-Lief (a charity that provides permanent homes for victims of domestic abuse) during the COVID-19 crisis.

Chelsea Hobbs (Emily Kmetko)

Hobbs was the only member of the main cast to (SPOILER) exit MIOBI early, which she did following the birth of her second child in 2011.

Since her time playing the scrappy and talented Emily Kmetko, Hobbs has starred in a number of TV movies and had a series of guest starring roles on shows like CSI, Supernatural, Lucifer and most recently, The Good Doctor. She also had a featured recurring role on season three of the Emmy-nominated Lifetime/Hulu series UnReal.

Hobbs started her own production company, Golden Door Productions, with friend and actress-producer Jovannah Burke in 2018. The company’s goal is to “focus on channeling women’s voices into the entertainment industry.”
