About Jacquie

Moran is a three-time level 10 nationals qualifier (2016, 2017 and 2019). She tied for silver on bars and for bronze on floor in 2017 (Junior A) and was crowned uneven bars champion in 2019 (Junior D). Moran is also the 2019 NorCal state champion in the all around, bars and floor, and the Region 1 champion on the balance beam.

What She Brings to Georgia

Vault

  • Skill: Yurchenko full
  • Results: tied fourth place at the 2019 NorCal state meet (career high)
  • Margin of Improvement: Moran’s vault is straight and clean in the air, but it could do with some additional distance from the table and consistency on the landing.
  • Impact on the Team: This is not the apparatus on which Moran is expected to make a difference at Georgia. Nevertheless, by the 2023 season she could turn into a solid lead-off vaulter, like Sarah Finnegan.

Uneven Bars

  • Skills: full pirouette, Maloney to Pak salto, Van Leuween, double layout dismount
  • Results: 2019 L10 national champion (Junior D)
  • Margin of Improvement: Moran’s lines are stunning. If we were to be super picky, she could perhaps stretch her double layout a tad more in the air, but her routine is undoubtedly 10.0 material.
  • Impact on the Team: We’ve said on multiple occasions that Moran could anchor any bar lineup in the country, and Georgia is no exception. Given the Gymdogs’ recent problems on this apparatus, moreover, Moran could be a real game changer.

Balance Beam

  • Skills: double wolf turn, switch leap to leap jump, side aerial to LOSO, front aerial, double twist dismount
  • Results: 2019 Region 1 champion
  • Margin of Improvement: Moran’s form is excellent here, too. Her splits are beautiful and she even makes a wolf turn look pretty. She could work on consistency, though.
  • Impact on the Team: Georgia’s balance beam situation is notorious, and Moran could help solve it. She and Victoria Nguyen could become an impressive end-of-the-lineup duo.

Floor Exercise

  • Skills: double pike, 1.5 twist to front layout, double tuck
  • Results: 2019 NorCal state champion
  • Margin of Improvement: Moran’s routine is not the most difficult, but once again, her form is impressive. She could just work on consistency a bit more. Her opening double pike is so high that she may be training an upgrade.
  • Impact on the Team: Moran’s routine has all the elements to score well in college. As it stands, it would look excellent in the middle of the lineup.
