Temple gymnastics announced Saturday it will be making the switch to the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) starting with the 2021 season. It was previously a member of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC).
The Owls have been rising in the ranks over the last several seasons, winning back-to-back ECAC championships in 2019 and 2020. They return 2019 ECAC Rookie of the Year and 2020 ECAC Athlete of the Year Ariana Castrence, as well as 2020 ECAC Rookie of the Year Madison Brooks. In addition, Head Coach Josh Nilson was named ECAC Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2020.
With this announcement, Temple becomes the eighth member of the conference, as well as the second new member for 2021. LIU also announced it would be joining the conference in 2021 for its inaugural season.
