Pitt team

LIVE BLOG: No. 29 N.C. State at No. 45 Pittsburgh

It’s Mary Emma coming to you live from the Fitzgerald Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh for an exiting EAGL matchup. These two teams hold the top 2 scores in the conference this season, so this could be a very close meet.

Pitt got off to a bit of a slow start this year, but the Panthers were finally able to put everything together at George Washington last week, scoring a 195.700. Senior transfer Michaela Burton continues to impress, scoring a huge 9.925 on beam last week

N.C. State is showing that it is the team to beat in the EAGL this year. Drew Grantham is back to full strength, and standout freshmen Chloe Negrete and Emily Shepard continue to improve every week. One thing to keep an eye on is the injury status of Nicole Webb. We received word that she will be back soon, but we don’t know how soon that will be.

After 1: Pitt: 48.775; NC State: 48.925

Great first rotation from both teams. Vault rotation started out a bit slow, but it was highlighted by those last 2 vaults (career highs for both). NC State’s bars looked strong. And the scoring seems right today, so that’s good.

Another great rotation for both teams. I though some of the NC State vault scores were a bit low compared to Pitt, but it looks like the judges are being strict on piking down and short landings.

HUGE floor rotation for NC State! Those last three routines were very impressive. Pitt had a solid beam rotation, and props to Burton for a clutch routine after the fall.

Looks like NC State is inquiring a beam score. Will keep you posted.
