Lopez Records Record Finish in Olympic All Around Final

Denver alumna Jessica Lopez, who is representing Venezuela at her third Olympics, finished a personal-best seventh in the women’s all around final at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games Thursday. Lopez, 30, had a combined total of 57.966 over four events, which was a mere 0.699 out of a bronze medal. Her previous highest finish in a world or Olympic all around final was 8th in 2014.Lopez was lead by her bar’s score of a 15.100. The mark was the fifth highest on the event during the final. She’ll be back to compete one last time Sunday in the bars final.
