Oklahoma September 2015 Training Updates

September 15, 2015
Oklahoma has always been known for its beautiful beam work, and it looks like 2016 will be no different. The video doesn’t contain a single back handspring layout step-out series — talk about out of the box! It’s also got a taste of what fan-favorite Chayse Capps has in store for her gymnastics this season (hint: it’s a wolf turn that won’t make you want to scratch your eyes out!).

The Sooners are really upping their game, which isn’t easy considering they spent most of 2015 as the No.1-ranked team in the country on their way to going undefeated in the regular season. But they’ve managed to do alright so far this preseason, showing off not just a couple of E-level tumbling passes but a whole plethora of them.

Oklahoma’s at it again!  From Wednesday’s all-E-level  tumbling video to Thursday’s all-10.0 start value vaults video, there’s nothing the team won’t upgrade. It’s coming like a freight train toward 2016, and isn’t slowing down any time soon.

Fun day on vault today! @keekmie @charjones95 @gymnast_hunter @chaysecapps @ajackson_10 and @hscaman #makeitcOUnt

There’s no way people will be able to call Oklahoma boring in 2016 (like they would anyway).  With a large variety of releases and E-level dismounts, there’s a great chance of no two Sooners having the same composition — a rarity in NCAA today.

Some gymnasts like to switch things up each season while others like perfecting their old standbys. Sooner McKenzie Wofford likes the latter.

Series on series on series. For something these gymnasts have been doing for basically ever, it’s funny how easy it is to fall. So practice is a must to be perfect come season.

So we stuck a few beam series today! #makeitcOUnt

Sophomore Ali Jackson wasn’t a regular member of the bar lineup for the Sooners in 2015 but has been working hard this preseason to add the event to her repertoire in 2016.

@ajackson_10 is ready to put together an awesome bar routine!

Catour did not compete in 2015 but looks to be working her way into a position this fall.

The Sooners also took to the floor Tuesday. Catour and fellow sophomore Natalie Brown as well as junior fan favorite Chayse Capps worked on their potential passes for 2016.
