Switching Teams: Multiple Gymnasts Transfer This Off-Season

Every season a handful of gymnasts transfer to other schools. Either because of dismissals, graduation or changed feelings, these changes are often under-the-radar. This off-season was no different.

Former Georgia gymnast Kiera Brown was dismissed from the team during the summer and soon after found a place at Penn State. The loss of Brown will be most notable for the Gym Dogs on bars as she floated around the 9.9 range every week.

Oregon State’s Nicole Turner, a weekly floor competitor for the Beavers, transferred to Oklahoma for her senior year. We can only assume it was to be closer to home as she is fromĀ Colleyville, Texas.

After being dismissed from the team in the middle of the 2015 season, former Penn State gymnast Lauren Li has found her new home at LSU for her remaining three seasons.

After a sub-par season with first-year head coach Rene Lyst at Arizona State, junior Kellie Wanamaker transferred to William & Mary while Savannah Borman is now at Iowa.
